Whether you’re a resident, from a parish council, a landowner or a housing association, we want to work with you.
Contact us to start exploring options for affordable housing in your community.
Residents
You can arrange a visit from Susan to give a talk to your community or request a Parish Profile to see the housing needs data for your area.
Parish Councils
We can provide a Parish Profile to share the housing needs data on your area, give a talk to your community or council committee, help identify land in your village suitable for housing, or carry out a Housing Needs Survey to find out the extent of need in your area.
Landowners
If you have land you’re considering selling, talk to us about how this can be used for rural housing. Durham County Council supports the use of Rural Exception sites to deliver affordable housing for local people. These sites are located on the edges of rural settlements and we are particularly looking for sites in Teesdale & Weardale.
Details can be found in the County Durham Plan here
Housing Association
We can be the go-between for you and the local community, acting as a trusted broker to support much-needed new affordable homes to rent by local people in our villages.
