Rural Durham Community Research Network
The Rural Durham Community Research Network brings together local communities, VCSE organisations and community groups across Teesdale, Weardale and Derwent Valley who have an interest in leading their own community research.
The network aims to build research capacity and capability in rural communities to investigate local issues, be fully involved in setting research agendas, contribute their experiences, collect relevant information, and influence positive changes in policy and practice.
How can you get involved?
VCSE organisations, community groups, policy, academic or public sector representatives
- Attend our quarterly network gatherings, remaining dates for 2026 include the 16th September 2026 and 2nd December 2026.
- Join the network's mailing list to receive a free bi-monthly newsletter, which contains information on community research happening in County Durham and resources
- Contact us to learn more about the network and to make general enquiries.
VCSE organisations and/or community groups
- If you have a research idea, you can get in touch for advice and ask us questions.
- Attend our annual workshops and training sessions to develop research skills and connect with others. New dates for 2027 will be shared later this year.
- Express an interest in our annual funding.
