Civic Commissioners come from a variety of backgrounds, including Durham County Council, Mental Health Trust (Tees, Esk and Wear valleys NHS Foundation Trust), NHS Trust (County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust), Durham Police and Crime Commission, Department for Work and Pensions, and bring a rich and diverse mix of experience and knowledge.
Both sets of Commissioners have formed some great relationships, and the initial feeling of 'them and us' has long been eradicated.
PTC 1 has now transitioned to the next stage of the Commission and formed three working groups:
- Disability and Benefits
- Domestic Abuse
- Access to Health Care Services
