As we learn to live with COVID-19, to assist voluntary and community organisations we have developed a series of short online workshops on Strategic Planning, Consultation and Engagement, Financial Management and Volunteering. All sessions are currently fully funded.
Strategic Planning Workshop
This online session is aimed at volunteer led organisations and community groups. It will cover the importance of having a safeguarding policy, understanding your responsibilities for safeguarding within your organisation and what to include in your safeguarding policy.
This event is part of Safer Culture North East, a partnership between Catalyst Stockton-on-Tees, Connected Voice, Durham Community Action, Northumberland CVA and VONNE, funded jointly by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and the National Lottery Community Fund.
Volunteering Workshop
This online session is aimed at staff/volunteers who are responsible for volunteer management. It will cover how the law applies to recruiting, supporting and managing volunteers, understanding the Disclosure and Barrings process and when it is required, using the correct language when recruiting volunteers and identifying the difference between good practice and the law when working with volunteers.

This online session is for volunteer led organisations and community groups. It will focus on understanding your responsibilities and developing a data protection policy.

Financial Management Workshop
A practical online session for volunteer led organisations and community groups. This is a session with specialist support to complete funding applications. Come along with a project idea to allow us to help you research suitable funders and complete the relevant applications.
Consultation and Engagement Workshop
This online session is aimed at volunteer led and community organisations. It will look at how to re-engage with your community after lockdown.
Volunteering Workshop
This online session is aimed at staff/volunteers who are responsible for volunteer recruitment and covers recruitment process, how to diversify recruitment, writing an attractive role description and the challenges and changes to volunteer recruitment post lockdown.
Financial Management Workshop
This online session is aimed at volunteer led organisations and community groups. It covers the practicalities of managing finance for your organisation, developing a financial controls policy to minimise risk and planning for future sustainability during a pandemic
Strategic Planning Workshop
This online session is for new trustees explaining your responsibilities within the organisation and how to develop an action plan to ensure best practice.
Consultation and Engagement Workshop
This online session is designed for trustees NEW to social media to help understand the different platforms and how these can be used to stay connected to volunteers and service users.
Consultation and Engagement Workshop
This online session will look at understanding your responsibilities and developing an action plan for life after lockdown as you sustain your new group.
