Changes to the Charities Act 2022

Changes are being introduced by the Charities Act 2022 which amends the Charities Act 2011.

Changes that came into force on 14 June 2023

• Selling, leasing or otherwise disposing of charity land
• Using permanent endowment
• Charity names

Changes that came into force on 31 October 2022

• Paying trustees for providing services or goods to the charity
• Fundraising appeals that do not raise enough or raise too much
• Power to amend Royal Charters

The final set of changes are due to come into effect by the end of 2023.
