Jo Laverick, Executive Director of Durham Community Action (DCA), has announced her intention to retire. Jo has been at the helm of DCA since 2004, during which time she has worked with many partners and organisations to help bring about positive change for communities across County Durham.

This is the culmination of a 44-year career for Jo. She’s now making plans for a well-earned retirement from work, secure in the knowledge that she’ll be leaving DCA with a strong and stable team of staff and Trustees, to take forward our work.

The DCA Trustees are beginning the process of recruiting Jo’s replacement and already have plans to ensure a smooth transition later this year. For now though it’s very much business as usual for Jo and the team. After providing a lifeline for communities through the worst of the COVID pandemic, DCA has exciting plans in place to champion and support the recovery and future development of County Durham’s communities and volunteers, and to maintain and strengthen its leadership role within the county’s Voluntary & Community Sector.
