DURHAM EMPLOYMENT AND SKILLS TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

Durham Employment and Skills (DES) is the training arm of Durham County Council’s Regeneration, Economy and Growth (REG) department and has a proven track record of delivering government funded training and development programmes.  These programmes have traditionally supported local residents who are unemployed and require support to assist them into sustained employment alongside business and community development support to local residents and businesses.

The experienced team do also offer a wide range of short, accredited courses that can be delivered to individual organisations or small groups of organisations for a fee of £300 for a one-day course for up to 12 people. The DES team are keen to make this suite of corporate training available to voluntary and community organisations.

Funding Support available

You may be able to access some funding support towards the cost of the training from the County Durham Community Foundation Volunteer Support Fund which aims to support voluntary and community organisations in County Durham in the aftermath of the COVID-19 lockdowns. Full details can be found here
