Belmont Community Association (BCA) has been awarded a Hallmark quality standard for village halls, at all levels, for the second time.   The examination covered governance, health & safety, security, licences, social awareness, forward planning and development.

Assessor Isla Ballard from Durham Community Action, who carried out the assessment, commented:

“Belmont Community Association continue to impress; the trustees, staff and volunteers are dedicated to providing a well-run and thriving community centre I am therefore delighted to award them the Hallmark accreditation.”

BCA Chair, Dave Drinkwater added:

“BCA have carried out a £100,000 modernisation programme over the last three years.   These improvements have attracted new business and we now have 30 regular groups of all ages using the Community Centre, including two special needs groups.”
