GRANT FUNDING TO IMPROVE ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN COUNTY DURHAM COMMUNITY BUILDINGS

6th Mar 2019

Durham County Council's Funding and Programmes Team have produced a note which outlines a number of funds that may be appropriate for helping community groups and organisations purchase and install energy efficiency measures for their community building.

It lists those grant/ loan programmes that may be appropriate for community groups in County Durham. Please note that some of this funding is time or location specific and many of the funds listed  will require the energy efficiency works to be included as part of a bigger project that is seeking to refurbish, extend or develop a community building for the use and enjoyment of more members of the local community.

Programmes listed may be subject to change at short notice.

Please also note that the Department of Energy and Climate Change’s ‘Feed in Tariff (FIT) Order’ states that installations of electricity generating equipment cannot receive both public funds (e.g. grant funding from Big Lottery) and Feed in Tariff (FIT) payments. Organisations therefore need to decide which of the two will be most appropriate and cost effective for them
