The winners of the 2014 Durham Community Action Volunteering Awards were announced at an awards ceremony held at Ramside Hall, near Durham last October.

More than 180 people attended the glittering ceremony, which was sponsored by the Banks Group, Beamish Museum, Durham County Council, Northumbrian Water, North Durham and Durham Dales, Easington and Sedgefield Clinical Commissioning Groups, and Ron Hogg - County Durham Police and Crime Commissioner.  The guest of honour was the Lord Lieutenant of County Durham, Mrs Sue Snowden.

Special congratulations to everyone who was nominated for an award.  It was incredibly difficult for the awards panels to narrow down to a shortlist and to then choose one winner in reach category.  The winners were:

Volunteer of the Year Award - Donna Bruce
