Elaine Kilgannon MBE

Elaine has lived most of her life in Durham, with a few nomadic years in the 1970s and early 1980s.

She has enjoyed a career in the NHS - for the first 25 years as a Dietitian, then after gaining an MSc in Public Health made a complete change and went into management of Cancer Services. She had two terms on the governing body of an NHS Trust. In 2006 she was awarded an MBE for service to the NHS. After retiring from the NHS, Elaine worked for eight years for Macmillan Cancer Support gaining further insight into service development and the voluntary sector. 

Elaine has previously been a trustee for a North East hospice and is currently a member of an Anglican Parochial Church Council (PCC) in Durham.
