Katie Baggott

Community Resources Support Officer

Katie joined Durham Community Action in April 2021 as Community Resources Support Officer working within the team to provide information, advice and guidance under our wide-reaching community development and support remit.

After graduating with a journalism degree, she is passionate about the community, the North East, social media, writing and podcasts. While at university, Katie worked as a volunteer at community radio station Spark FM as a radio presenter, producer, social media executive and news reporter.

Most recently, prior to joining Durham Community Action, Katie worked at the University of Sunderland’s Students Union as a Policy & Campaigns Assistant. She was tasked with supporting students of all ages and backgrounds with campaigns, developing training sessions for volunteers and creating content for their website.  

In her spare time, Katie likes to go for walks, enjoys the company of family and friends, edits her own podcast ‘Northern Natter’ and enjoys keep fit dancing.
