NHS North Durham CCG Community Engagement Project

Durham Community Action (DCA) has worked with NHS North Durham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to deliver part of the CCGs patient engagement activity on local health service issues since 2013 but as part of the ongoing development of both organisations, this relationship is now changing.

From 1 April 2017 DCA will be working to facilitate the ongoing discussion between the CCG and the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) regarding the integration of health and social care.

NHS North Durham CCG Engagement in the future

NHS North Durham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) will be delivering its engagement activities slightly differently.

NHS North Durham CCG will still be looking to continue its engagement of local groups and individuals but by doing this directly itself, rather than through DCA. The CCG will still be looking to have regular conversations with those local groups, organisations and individuals who can help to shape their plans and highlight the experiences of patients and carers.

NHS North Durham CCG hopes that this new approach will bring the staff working within the organisation much closer to local people and will be able to build on the existing strong networks and links the engagement activity has had.

DCA would like to encourage all those who have participated in engagement activities to register as a member of North Durham MyNHS if they have not already done so.
