Durham Community Action is an Investor in People, and we are proud to have been successfully reassessed for this accreditation in June 2013.

The ACRE Good Practice Quality Standards

The ACRE (Action for Communities in Rural England) Good Practice Quality Standards outline the criteria defining operational `good practice` in 9 key areas as they specifically relate to Rural Community Councils throughout England.  Progress is measured against three levels of attainment – basic requirements, advanced requirements and ongoing achievement and development.  The process combines in-house self-assessment, with external validation to confirm that the highest standards continue to be met. This is provided through a peer review process involving trained and accredited assessors from within the Rural Community Council network.  The fourth edition of the ACRE Good Practice Quality Standard is endorsed by the Charity Commission.

Following previous success at Levels 1 and Level 2, we achieved the highest Level 3 Accreditation in September 2010.  Our accreditation was reassessed and renewed for a further four years in October 2013.
