Finding your potential

Durham Community Action (DCA) are working as a partnership of 12 voluntary and community sector organisations working on the Reaching Out Across Durham (ROAD) Building Better Opportunities (BBO) programme. ROAD is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund until 2019, and aims to provide support to the most disadvantaged groups in Durham, who are furthest from the labour market and who experience significant barriers to work.

DCA have now recruited 2 full-time Navigators – Tara Hallimond and Karen Anderson – who will be covering the geographical areas of Crook, Willington, Teesdale and Weardale. Support will be offered to those aged 25 years and above, unemployed or economically inactive, to move forward into volunteering, training, job search and employment.

Tara and Karen can support participants to access a range of opportunities and specialist support including IT, money management and health and wellbeing.

You can contact the Navigators: Tara on 01388 742063/ 07496 461966 or by email  or Karen on 01388 742062/ 07496 461961 or by email

You can also visit the ROAD website for more information
