14th Nov 2018

Dear Colleagues

This year, the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board and the Safeguarding Adults Board are holding a Safeguarding Awareness Week between Monday 26 November and Friday 30 November and we very much hope that you will be able to support us in spreading the important messages we have to share.

During the awareness week we will be holding a range of events and will be sharing messages about our key themes for the week on our website and social media channels.

This year the areas we are covering are:

  • Child Sexual Exploitation
  • Early Help / raising profile of prevention and early intervention
  • Domestic Violence, abuse and neglect
  • Counter Terrorism (PREVENT)

We will be using the hashtag #TellSomeone in all of our social media messaging – if you follow that hashtag you will see all of our messages and we would be delighted if you would consider sharing / retweeting them to your own audiences please. If you would like to share some messages of your own, please do include the hashtag so that we can see them too.

Timetable of weekly activities:

As always, we are looking to remind people of our key message: Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. If you have concerns about a child/adult and think they are being exploited, neglected or abused, report it

Kindest regards
