Karen Anderson

Karen started her career as a volunteer within DISC, following this she was offered a full-time position to support vulnerable adults and young people with an offending & substance misuse background within the community. This covered the Teesside & East Cleveland area.  The support was around training and employment opportunities, confidence building / self-esteem and to enhance employability skills.

Following this, her career continued in other supporting roles within charitable organisations, moving into County Durham area, working on the Work Programme, Mandatory Work Programme and Floating Support, supporting 16-25 year olds towards Independent Living Skills.

Before becoming involved within a supporting role, she worked various part time positions within the local retail outlets in her home town whilst raising her family.  

Karen lives with her husband and has three grown up children. In her spare time, she enjoys walking her two dog’s Snuffy and Holly and enjoys holiday’s in Scotland where she can take her dogs. She also enjoys socialising and spending time with her family.
