County Durham Volunteer Coordinators Forum

The Forum was established in 2006 and provides the opportunity for staff / volunteers who are responsible for volunteer management in their organisation to network with staff / volunteers from other organisations who have similar responsibilities. The forum is facilitated by Durham Community Action.

At regular meetings presentations are given by organisations on new initiatives or overviews of volunteering programmes. Regular topics include changes in volunteer policy and legislation, funding possibilities and local training available to volunteers.

Training and support are also offered to forum participants to enable them to be effective in their roles as volunteer co-ordinators and a regular survey is undertaken to identify any training and support needs.

Training sessions are arranged around forum meetings and would typically include topics such as:

The forum meetings take place on a quarterly basis In January, April, July and October at Bowburn Community Centre, Durham Road, Bowburn, Durham DH6 5AT and new participants are always welcome! 

The  2017 meeting dates are Tuesday 25th April, Tuesday 18th July and Tuesday 17th October from 10.00am - 1.00pm.
